I’m finally getting my act together, now that GRL is just a few days away. Part of me is ready for a break, but part of me is nervous to leave DH home alone with Casanova. Especially since The Ex is still sniffing around. I’m pretty much ready to go, though. (I’m bringing some photos of Casanova, so you can see the child that upended my life, and why I’m so willing to let it happen!)

Okay…GRL…I’m arriving late on Tuesday. After my travel disaster, last year, I gave myself a day’s cushion to arrive and get myself all settled in. Mama Kris and I are rooming together, this year. She might end up having to wrangle me, all weekend. We’ll see.

I’m UN-CLOAKING this year! For the first time, I’m registered as a FEATURED AUTHOR! I’m going to be openly appearing and mingling with all of you. Some of you already know what I look like, but now, EVERYONE will know!

In addition to my scheduled appearances and reading, there will be times I find myself without any commitments. Unless I need a nap (*eyeroll*), I’ll find a comfy spot somewhere in the hotel, have a drink, and invite everyone to join me. Keep an eye on FB and Twitter for any impromptu announcements that I’m holding court. Readers who have joined me in the past can tell you, I’ll chat, answer questions, sign books, sell dog tags, and drool over your photos of the Marine in your life. (wink)

Anyway, if you haven’t already heard about the outrageous arrangement that was imposed on authors for selling hard copy books, let me break it down. We DO NOT get our print copies free – we pay for them. We’re also taxed. We make next to nothing on print copies – ebooks are where our bread and butter is. So, if we want to make print books available OFFICIALLY for readers to purchase, WE have to SHARE a HUGE chunk of our royalty with a company, just so they can stand behind a table and run your credit cards. It’s ridiculous. When the books are sold at tables staffed by the publishers, and by the authors during their signings, you can get answers to questions and guidance about which book to read next. Strangers selling our books will be no help at all. It’s a racket. I’m sure by now, you’re all aware that you should bring your own copies for me to sign, if you want one signed. They’re set up to deal with that, so that’s what you want to do.

INTERNATIONAL READERS – I’ve arranged for a FEW print copies of each book be available for purchase, and international readers get first priority, because we all know how expensive it is to ship to other countries. Just find me at some point during the event. I’ll also be carrying my tablet or my phone, so I’ll be checking FB, if you want to PM me.

DOG TAGS – I’m bringing plenty of dog tags to sell. I even have the brand-new pairing of ADAM & DAWSON available. The special GRL price is $5.00 per set, but I will be giving away random sets, at random times, during my scheduled events throughout the weekend.

As for my scheduled appearances, I’m in all the FIRST groups, and I’m doing one of the first readings (with my buddies Jambrea & Cherie).

I’m on the schedule Thursday, for the first Author Lounge Event at noon. There’s also the Opening Reception, hosted by MLR. Of course, I wouldn’t miss the Go-Go Dancers at the Juke Joint.

On Friday, Cherie Noel, Jambrea Jones, and I will be reading excerpts from our anthology: Big Bone Lick Pack. I highly recommend that you all grab your coffee and come join us. If you’re not already aware, hilarity always ensues when the three of us are together. You never know what we’ll come up with when we’re having fun in the moment.

On Casino Night, if there’s a Texas Hold ‘Em table, that’s where you’ll find me.

On Saturday, I’m scheduled for the first Featured Author Book Signing from 2:00 – 5:00.

My costume for the Time Travel Costume Party DOES NOT have a veil this year, so I’ll be easily identified.

My flight out on Sunday is late, so I won’t be caught up in that early rush to get checked out and to the airport. I usually just sit and have lunch, and watch everyone else going nuts. It’s really entertaining!

Kendall McKenna

Kendall mckenna love & dog tags Kendall McKenna is an author of M/M erotic romance novels. Kendall McKenna’s first work of fiction was written at the worldly age of nine, and was a transformative work that expanded on the story told in a popular song of the time. She tried her hand at vampire and cowboy fiction, winning high school poetry and short story contests along the way. It wasn’t until she discovered the world of m/m erotic fiction and found her stride with cops, Marines and muscle cars, that she felt inspired to share her stories with readers who enjoy the same things. Putting herself through college by working in a newly-created HIV testing clinic in her local Department of Health, introduced Kendall to the gay and lesbian community. Understanding and empathy has made her a lifetime advocate of GLBT issues. A brief bout of unemployment gave Kendall the time and focus she needed to finally produce a novel worth submitting for publication. Her first novel, Brothers In Arms, introduced the world to her authentic military stories and characters. Kendall was born and raised in Southern California, where she still lives and works. A non-conventional relationship has kept her happy for the last decade. Her four dogs enjoy it when she writes, as she sits still long enough for them to curl up around her.

When you are back from GRL, I want a set of Dawson & Adam dog tags to add to my collection. Have a great time.
